Synco de Mayo

Before you venture out tonight to chase your Tequila shots with Corona and nachos, why not sync something? A sense of unexpected victory will overcome you, and you won’t regret it in the morning. Here are some ideas that could save your butt, your money, or your marriage:

Backup your hard drive
Back up your computer’s hard drive using Time Machine, Carbon Copy Cloner, Retrospect, Super Duper, Crash Plan – pick your favorite and go for it. If you don’t have a backup in place, get one without delay! Fun Fact – if you don’t have a back up and your drive crashes, it can cost thou$ands to recover lost photos, work, music, video, etc.

Sync your iPhone / iPod / iPad
Connect your iGadget into your computer. If it isn’t set up to sync automatically when connected, then press the Sync button in iTunes to make it so. Whenever you sync, iTunes automatically backs up everything, including photos and videos taken, addresses, appointments, and items purchased on the device. The point is that if you lose, break, or some other unthinkable thing happens, all of your stuff can easily be reloaded from the backup created while syncing. If you can stand to be without for 10 minutes, syncing is the way to go.
